We needed more space and were sticking close to home, so the caravan made sense. It even came in handy as a temporary home for our builder Micky while he built our extension in 2010.

Owning a caravan gave us an entirely different vanlife experience. We spent summers, when Eddie and Harry were tiny, pitched up at a local campsite while Steve commuted to and from work each day. Surrounded by friends these were idyllic summers of fun and community. At the end of each day the children came in tired and grubby, the perfect toddler childhood.
We are motorhome people at heart, and the caravan confirmed it. No regrets about the time we spent in it, but we were glad to go back on engine.
